I'm a hitachi magic wand convert, so My review is going to be based on that, as it's My primary experience as far as vibrators go. As devoted as I have been to the hitachi for years, sometimes it's just too much. The chord and being limited to three settings (OMG, off, and !!!!) as well as how difficult and uncomfortable to hold/easy to accidentally turn off or unplug mid use had Me looking to explore My options. That's when I first discovered lelo, and fell IN LOVE with how beautiful all the toys were. On My partner's we insistence decided this would be the best to try, considering the items are pricier and it made more sense to look for something versatile, to use on a regular basis.I'm not usually big on packaging, but they know they're a luxury brand. The cardboard box containing the toy had a texture. There was some black powder on My toy when I got it, that rubbed off easily leaving no stain. Not a major thing, but something I noticed-you should always clean before use but seriously, do it.Since I've been hitachi exclusive, having multiple settings was something I avoided, but i now appreciate them. The lowest settings aren't very noticeable to a hyper sensitive individual, and I feel the lowest could start at a higher vibration. Regardless, the higher settings are MUCH higher than expected, for a tiny toy it packs a punch! I'd say the highest is on par with the lowest hitachi setting, but whisper silent in comparison. It's much smaller than I expected, and much quieter. It is so quiet, I have used it right next to My partner, and they did not even hear it. Set on a table or hard surface however, you can hear the buzz. He feels it could be used for discrete public play, however the lack of remote and button placement make this a challenge. The texture is definitely softer to the touch than hitachi, and better for longer use as it's less likely to irritate. The shape definitely has women's bodies in mind, but it works for guys just fine too. We feel its much better for couples than the hitachi or any other wand thanks to it's size, it doesn't get in the way and since it has lower levels, it's easier to use and change up.The wireless, no battery is heavenly, and it's definitely something I'll be expecting in My future toys. I also can't leave this review without telling you that it really is pretty. The main drawback is kind of an advantage, I'm honestly still confused on My feelings about the buttons. The buttons are small, and they have to be pressed hard. This is a drawback if you want to play a game of increasing or decreasing the power mid use, you pretty much have to keep your finger on the button the whole time. It's an advantage compared to the hitachi because you can rest assured you won't accidentally turn it off mid use. It is difficult to sort through the patterns, in fact the only time I got to the patterns it was an accident, I'm not sure how to access them, but I prefer a solid buzz anyway.Other reviewers gloss over it but we are honestly kind of disappointed at the lack of scent. While we ultimately decided on this against one of Lelo's less expensive similar toys because of the softer texture, they definitely market and upcharge by advertising the fact it's the first scented vibrator. While it doesn't have the obnoxious stench of a cheap jelly toy (bonus), it doesn't have a scent at all either.I was ready to rate 4 stars, simply because I've purchased toys for similar price that have blue tooth remote capabilities and feel it wouldn't be difficult for lelo to incorporate a remote (they have several items that do) for easier use, as well as the scent discrepancy. My partner however feels it's five stars couple wise, and I have to agree it's advantages greatly outweigh it's drawbacks. While I wanted this toy for awhile, I was glad I bought it on sale ($111) as I'm not sure I would've felt as good spending full price. I'll update in a year or so though, because I had to replace My hitachi and purchase silicone covers for the head, so if I don't need to replace this in the next year or two, I'll be able to say for certain spending extra on a luxury toy is worth it. I also have yet to test out its waterproof capabilities, so I will update in that regard as well. Overall satisfied and would recommend.
